Maintenance Engineer

Job Responsibilities
• Ensure smooth operation and upkeep of mechanical systems, utility equipment, and plant machinery.
• Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance tasks in accordance with the maintenance
schedule.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and coordinate timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
• Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machines or production lines.
• Maintain and update records of breakdowns, maintenance activities, and spare part usage.
• Ensure availability and proper inventory of critical spares and tools through coordination with stores
and vendors.
• Monitor equipment performance, wear, and condition using tools like vibration analysis,
thermography, or oil analysis.
• Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, and production teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and compliance with statutory maintenance regulations.
• Contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
for repeated breakdowns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing.
• Participate in energy-saving initiatives, utility audits, and drive cost reduction through reliability
improvement.
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of compressors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, HVAC
systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Assist in training junior technicians and operators in basic maintenance and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with OEMs and service providers for maintenance contracts, AMCs, and major overhauls.
Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Maintenance Engineering (or
equivalent).
• 4 -6 years of experience in a plant, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance role.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance of rotating equipment, utilities, and
production machinery.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with maintenance software like CMMS, SAP, or ERP systems.
• Working knowledge of TPM, TQM, 5S, or Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, machine manuals, and technical
documentation.
• Good understanding of safety standards, LOTO procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, team coordination, and documentation abilities.
