FTTH Splicer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

– Assist and guide in pulling, laying, tying, and routing fiber optic cables through conduits, ducts, and electric poles.
– Perform fiber optic splicing using fusion splicers, ensuring low-loss connections.
– Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing for quality assurance.
– Route and secure fiber cables in both outdoor and indoor settings.
– Plan and distribute optical power for the network.
– Install ONTs at customer premises, ensuring connectivity and performance.
– Diagnose and resolve fiber optic issues, including signal loss and connectivity problems.
– Communicate with customers to understand and address their issues.
– Maintain splicing tools and testing equipment in good working condition.

Skills & Qualifications:

– Proficiency in fiber optic splicing and testing techniques.
– Strong understanding of OTDR, power meter, and light source testing.
– Ability to plan and distribute optical power.
– Excellent problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving fiber optic issues.
– Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers.
– Attention to detail and ability to maintain tools and equipment.

Experience:

– Relevant experience in fiber optic splicing and testing.
– Experience with installing and maintaining ONTs.

Other Requirements:

– Willingness to work in both outdoor and indoor environments.
– Ability to travel to customer premises as needed.
