Assistant Manager – Development & Engineering

Reporting to:
Plant Head

Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for new product development (NPD) and engineering support
for existing valve product lines.
• Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure
manufacturability and performance standards.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments for
development activities, prototype validation, and trials.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, material specifications, and standards
(ASME, API, ISO, etc.).
• Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
• Participate in feasibility studies, design reviews, and process improvement
discussions.
• Ensure documentation and change management for engineering drawings,
BOMs, and process sheets.
• Liaise with customers and design teams to address technical queries and
support customization.

Qualifications and Experience
• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 6–10 years in product development or engineering within
the valve or related precision engineering industry.
• Background from vendor development or engineering department preferred.
• Knowledge of design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) will be an
added advantage.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and
assembly of valves.
• Familiarity with API / ANSI / ASME standards relevant to valve design and
testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Capable of leading cross-functional coordination and handling development
projects independently.
